Elinor Nicholson (15) from Lanark and Isla Short (11) from Biggar bring home silver medals to Clydesdale for their Clarsach performances at this years Royal National MOD held in Fort William.

Two talented girls celebrated winning silver and bronze medals in the recent Royal National Mod.
Elinor Nicholson, 15, from Lanark and Isla Short, 11, from Biggar, competed against musicians from all over Scotland at the Gaelic festival in Fort William.
Elinor, who also studies the viola at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama as well as playing the piano, was awarded third place in the advanced Clarsach competition and second place in the accompaniment of a singer competition.
Isla, who attends St Mary's Music School in Edinburgh, won a silver medal in the Clarsach Junior Intermediate Class.
Both girls study clarsach under Savourna Stevenson in Symington. Savourna said: "I am so proud and pleased for Elinor and Isla. It is a very fertile time for music in South Lanarkshire and I am delighted the girls are sharing their talent."
