Other Roads...lead to March gig

Clydesdale Folk Club’s normal February gig will be a week later taking it into March.

The guests will be the excellent trio Other Roads. Lead singer Pete Abbott is no stranger to the club, having been a member of the John Wright Band. He has also played solo a couple of times since John’s sad passing and has always been a popular performer.

Edinburgh based Gregor Borland is one of the finest exponents of the Scottish fiddle, teaching all over the world. Gregor does most of the arrangements for the band.

Zimbabwe born Dave Walmisley moved to the UK when he was 17 and played for the band Risky Business for 14 years. A talented multi instrumentalist and singer songwriter, Dave’s humour adds greatly to the band’s performances.

Support act for the evening will be Libberton based Andy Munro, who as well as being the well known entertainer Mr. Boom, has a great repertoire of his own songs and also cover versions of others.

The concert will be at the Elphinstone Hotel in Biggar on Thursday 1st March at 8.00pm.

Tickets priced £10 and  £8 for members are available from Atkinson Pryce Bookshop or at the door on the night.
