GiveWAyEDINBURGH-BASED girl group GiveWay are the special guests at this year's Clydesdale Folk Club Christmas concert.
The concert, which takes place on Friday, December 16, at the Municipal Hall, in Biggar, has a distinctively youthful feel to it as support also comes from Stonehouse teenager Heather, Young.
Formed in 1998, GiveWay comprises the four Johnson sisters: Fiona, Kirsty, Amy and Mairi.
The girls have been playing together from an early age and formed the band as teenagers.
George Simpson, from Clydesdale Folk Club said: "GiveWay have won awards at the acclaimed Scottish music festival 'Celtic Connections' and the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards.
"They have performed on numerous radio and television shows and at a series of high profile venues including the main stage at the Cambridge Folk Festival and Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall.
"They have also supported top acts including Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, Karen Matheson and Wolfestone.
"Having been taken to folk festivals since she was a baby, Heather has been playing and singing since she was 10 and now writes her own songs.
"She is a polished performer, already gaining a spot at the Open Stage at Celtic Connections earlier this year."
The Clydesdale Folk Club Christmas concert takes place on Friday, December 16, in Biggar Municipal Hall.
Tickets, priced £12 (£10 for members), are on sale now at Atkinson Pryce Books in Biggar or by calling 01899 221225.
